與刀耕火種相似，農民選擇一個農址，砍伐該地的樹木及木本植物

待樹木乾燥後再作焚燒，此舉所產生的富含營養的草木灰能使土壤肥沃

在某塊土地耕種一段時間，其肥力下降後，將之休耕，改為耕種其他土地

待原來土地肥力回升後，再重新耕種

Similar to slash and burn, farmers choose a farm site and cut down the trees and woody plants on the site

When the trees are dry, they are burned, the ash produced from nutrient-rich plant can make the soil fertile

After a certain piece of land has been cultivated for a period of time and its fertility has declined, it is left fallow, while other land is chosen for cultivation

After the fertility of original soil has recovered, the land will be re-cultivated
